Brian F. Bailey

A graduate of Saint Mary's University (B.Sc.-Hons Mathematics-cum laude) and Dalhousie University (LLB), Mr. Bailey will have been practicing law in Nova Scotia for 40 years as of December 10, 2016. Brian is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Canadian Bar Association. Brian is the managing lawyer at Bailey & Associates and practices law in the areas of criminal law, family law, personal injury, corporate/commercial law, wills and estates, and property law.

A former Crown Attorney, Brian has been in private practice at Bailey & Associates since 1984. In addition to his responsibilities at the law firm, Brian served with the Canadian Forces (Army) for over 21 years. He was the Commanding Officer of 33 (HFX) SVC BN and 35 (SYDNEY) SVC BN. He served as Halifax Garrison Commander and at the time of his retirement he was 36CBG ACOS (ADM). He attained the rank of LCol. He received the Canada Decoration (CD) and is now HLCol of 3 MP Regt.

Brian has served on the Nova Scotia Bar Council. He is Vice Chair of the CBA Criminal Justice (NS) section, Chair of the CBA Military Justice (NS) section and the CBA Members and Members’ Services Committee. He also serves on the following NS Barristers Society Committees: Law Office Management Committee, Criminal Law Standards Committee and Provincial Court Liaison Committee. Brian is a mentor for the Nova Scotia legal Aid private bar mentoring Committee.

Brian also holds a 4th Dan black belt in Uechi Ryu karate-do and has his private pilot's license.

Mark Bailey


Mark was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received his B.A. from Saint Mary's University in 2003 and his LLB from Dalhousie University in 2007. While in law school, Mark was an Alistair Fraser scholar, acheived Dean's List academic standing and was presented with the George Isaac Smith (Ike) Award upon graduation. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 2008 and to the bar in Nova Scotia in 2009. Prior to joining Bailey and Associates, Mark practiced at two national law frims in Toronto, Ontario. Mark's current practice is focused in the areas of corporate and commercial law, real estate, wills and estates, bankruptcy and litigation matters. He is an avid runner in his spare time and is invovled with various community organizations.

Graeme Bailey

Graeme was born in and raised in Cole Harbour, Nov a Scotia. He completed his Bachelor of Science (cum laude) at Saint Mary’s University in 2007 and his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2010. Graeme completed a Foreign Equivalence Accreditation through the National Committee on Accreditation/Federation of Law Societies in 2011 and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2012. Graeme practices Criminal law, Wills and Estates, Real Estate, Civil Litigation and Corporate Law. In addition to his responsibilities at the law firm, Graeme is a Lieutenant with the Canadian Armed Forces and is 2 Troop Leader with the Halifax Rifles (RCAC).

Cathy J. Logan


Ms. Logan grew up in Halifax Dartmouth and graduated from Cole Harbour High, She then served 17 years in the Canadian Forces as a pilot and logistics officer where she received both her Canadian Forces Decoration CD and Special Service Medal S.S.M.. Ms. Logan graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts (Deans List) followed by a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie Law School. She completed a clerkship for the Judges of the Nunavut Court of Justice, in Nunavut, Iqaluit in followed by her articles with the Bureau of Pensions Advocates, in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she advocated on behalf of injured Canadian Forces members, RCMP members and veterans who were denied pensions from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Ms. Logan joined the Bailey and Associates team full-time January 2014. Ms. Logan preferred areas of practice include family law, litigation; including Worker’s Compensation and Canada Pension, real estate; including mortgages and migrations, wills and estate planning; and personal injury. Along with her responsibilities at the law firm she is an artist in mediums such as glass and metal clay and she has five children.

Peter Kidston


A graduate of Dalhousie University (B.A., 1980, LLB, 1983) Peter has been practicing law in Dartmouth since being admitted to the bar on July 27, 1984. Peter practices in the area of criminal law, civil litigation, wills and estates, corporate and commercial and property law. Peter has been involved in coaching youth basketball with the Dartmouth Lakers Basketball Club since its inception and continues to do so and is involved with various community organizations.

Keith Ferguson


Keith was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. With over thirty years of business experience, Mr. Ferguson is the General Manager of Bailey and Associates. Keith worked for Scotiabank for over twenty years which helped him acquire expertise in such fields as organizational dynamics, management and commercial credit. Keith has worked as a financial planner for many years and also in other fields such as automotive, software development, office machines and lease financing. With his wealth of financial experience and business knowledge, Mr. Ferguson is able to assist our lawyers when dealing with commercial aspects of your legal matter.

Noelle Yhard

Noelle was born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, however, grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from Saint Mary’s University in 2010 and her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University in 2014. During her time at Dalhousie, Noelle volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, the Tenant’s Rights Project at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic, and was co-chair of the Publications Committee, among other extracurricular activities. Noelle is currently focusing primarily on the areas of family law and wills and estates planning. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, film, sewing and design, and cooking.

Jeremy Gay

Jeremy is a graduate of Dalhousie University (LLB, B.Sc.-Hons). He has been practicing law in Nova Scotia since 1976 and assists clients with contract litigation including collections and builders' liens, incorporations, shareholder agreements, share transfers, leases, powers of attorney, personal directives, wills, probate proceedings, buying and selling real estate, mortgages, conversion/migration of real estate, and notary services. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys reading and watching sports (especially the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors). Jeremy has been a volunteer for the past thirty-five years coaching youth basketball/baseball and serving successively as a member of the Dartmouth Kinsman and Cole Harbour Lions Clubs.
